
Hamster-Powered Phone Charger
A 16-year-old boy invented a hamster-powered mobile phone charger as part of his science project. He attached a generator to his hamster's wheel and connected it to his phone charger. Every two minutes the hamster spends on his wheel gives him about thirty minutes of talk time on his phone.

Hamster-Powered Night Light
Otherpower.com staffs have designed a LED nightlight that turns on automatically when it gets dark, run off a rechargable battery, charged by the hamster alternator. There are 2 bright red LEDs on this device, when one is lit, the other is off. The frequency of the flicker changes as the hamster changes speed. It can guide you to the bathroom at night.

Hamster-Powered MIDI Sequencer
Levy Lorenzo, a percussionist, built a Hamster controlled MIDI sequencer. It's three note polyphonic. Each channel is controlled by two hamsters, one for the melody, the other one for the rhythm. The MIDI sequencer intelligently produce melodies based on the hamsters' movements. Unbelievable? Watch it for yourself, the music sounds good!

That is a really neat idea! We cats always thought that hamsters could provide us with a great deal of energy, but we usually think that we'd get the energy from our bellies.

hmm.. my hamsters don't use much of the wheel nowadays and they're getting fatter. been trying to put them on the wheel but to no avail. maybe they are depress i don't know. need to spend more times with them i guess...
They usually active at night or early in the morning. Mayb they do run in the wheel when you are not watching haha! What type of hamsters do you have?
Mine are syrian hamsters.
Syrian hamster should stay alone when grow up, if not they will fight, just keep in mind.
